User Experience

Research, design, and strategy. A successful progression starts with understanding where you’re beginning.

A user journey is your customer’s experience everywhere they touch your business — interconnected and complex. We map it, measure it, and design it deliberately. Usability and support issues tie directly to revenue: user frustration and unmet needs are precisely the catalysts for churn and abandonment, almost regardless of how difficult you’ve made it to leave.

What we believe

  • Design for the way people behave — not the way we want them to behave.
  • There is no perfect design. We work for the user: simplifying, clarifying, removing friction.
  • All user frustration is valid. Even when a person makes a mistake, the system fell short.
  • Methods and approach matter as much as the portfolio.

How an engagement runs

01

Understand the current state

Goals, users, data, market, and operations — then a closer read of the system itself.

02

Design the future state

Findings become testable adjustments: information architecture, wireframes, clickable prototypes.

03

Validate and iterate

Usability testing, pilots, and A/B experiments — with usability metrics tracked throughout.

04

Beyond the product

The same discipline applied to the operation itself — planning, strategy, roadmapping.

Understand the current state

We start where you are: a thousand-foot survey of your goals, users, data, market, and existing operations, then a closer read of the system itself. Data sources include application logs, support tickets, backlogs, user feedback, reviews, and our own user studies.

Heuristic analysis

Where the interface violates principles of usable design — the low-hanging fruit: spacing, prompts, placement, noise, microcopy, error handling.

Cognitive walkthroughs

Can users actually accomplish what they came to do?

Task analyses

Procedural and hierarchical — what the work actually requires, step by step.

Journey & process mapping

Journey, story, and process mapping — see your customer, see your strategy, map it out.

Contextual inquiry

Ethnography, surveys, and persona building — understand the user, find their pain points, offer solutions.

Analytics & tracking

Heat mapping, mouse tracking, data mining, and error-log review.

Areas of research

The research practice runs deeper than evaluation methods. Standing areas of study: influence and persuasion; friction and cognitive load; tracking and analytics; data science and data analysis; and operations research. This is where the human-factors discipline earns its keep — the same principles that explain why a user abandons a checkout explain why a team abandons a process.

Beyond the product

Include us in your business planning as readily as your design planning — apps, websites, new features, or the operation itself. From process mapping, customer-journey mapping, and user flows to other visualization techniques: see your customer, see your strategy, map it out. We advise business planning, marketing strategy, and operations, and we help with roadmapping.

Design the future state

Findings become testable adjustments: information architecture, wireframes, and clickable prototypes, with design guidelines and style guides (we build ours in Figma) so your product owners and teams can keep answering formatting questions long after we’ve left the room.

Validate and iterate

Usability testing, pilots and beta tests, and A/B or multivariate experiments — with usability metrics tracked throughout: efficiency, effectiveness, satisfaction. Every iteration adds design psychology and user research back into the process, so the design process stays data-informed and data-driven.
